Full Defender 8T secure boundary solution for Newark Academy

Secure-a-Field has recently completed a full secure boundary protection project for the Newark Academy in Nottinghamshire, part of the Nova Education Trust.

In 2018 the land surrounding Newark Academy became the temporary, unauthorised home for a travelling community. To reduce the risk of a repeat problem, Premises Officer, David Crampton chose to limit site access for pedestrians and vehicles, and our Defender 8T fencing was the ideal solution. Working from the brief of the client we installed nearly 200 metres of quality Defender 8T mesh security fencing along the perimeter of the land, specified to match the design of current fencing already in place. Also installed were five sets of Defender 8T gates ranging in size from 1.5m pedestrian gates to 5.0m wide vehicle gates to give the school full access to the property.

Next, the open space area along the front entryway of the school was bordered with steel hoop barriers – to stop vehicles mounting the path and parking on the grass – with lockable telescopic bollards installed at authorised access points. As a final touch, all fencing, gates, hoops and bollards were galvanised and powder-coated in Newark Academy's distinctive anthracite grey branding to match the school's colour scheme.
