Project Overview

Lillington Primary School required a robust security upgrade to enhance access control and perimeter safety. Secure-a-Field was commissioned to deliver a tailored solution that combined automated gate installation, reinforced fencing, and essential groundworks.

Scope of Work

Groundworks Before new security measures could be implemented, existing gates were carefully removed, and groundwork was carried out to establish strong foundations. Excavation for concrete footings and ducting ensured durability, while surfaces were re-instated to seamlessly match the surrounding environment.

Gate Installation An automated sliding gate was installed, providing a secure entrance system. Power was connected and commissioned to ensure smooth operation. To maximise cost-effectiveness, existing access control components were salvaged and repurposed, integrated into the new pedestrian gate. A new intercom was installed at the vehicle gate post, improving communication and access management.

Fencing Installation To further enhance security, 8 metres of 2000mm high Defender 358 mesh fencing were installed, creating a dedicated enclosure for the sliding gate. A semi-automatic pedestrian gate was added, providing controlled entry. Additionally, 38 metres of outdated palisade fencing and an old gate were dismantled and removed from the site, ensuring the perimeter was fully modernised.

Outcome

The project successfully delivered a secure, high-functioning access system that enhances both safety and convenience. By repurposing access control components, costs were optimised while maintaining efficiency. The school now benefits from a reinforced boundary, preventing unauthorised access and improving day-to-day operations.
