Spectator Handrail and Gates Installed for Mulbarton Wanderers FC

Secure-a-Field completed the installation of new spectator handrail and matching access gates at Mulbarton Wanderers Football Club, based at The Abode Arena, Mulbarton, Norfolk.

The project was designed to improve pitchside safety, define spectator areas clearly, and provide practical gated access for vehicles and pedestrians around the football ground.

Project overview

Mulbarton Wanderers FC required a robust pitchside barrier system suitable for regular matchday use. The works involved the installation of 360 metres of 1.1m high spectator handrail, along with a set of matching gates to provide controlled access where needed.

The installation followed the same specification as previous Secure-a-Field spectator rail projects, giving the client a proven, practical solution for a busy football club environment.

• 2 x 3.5m wide double leaf matching vehicle gates
• 3 x 1.2m wide matching pedestrian gates
• 156 posts
• 144 panels
• Gates fitted with padlockable slide latches

Practical access for matchdays and maintenance

A football ground needs to work for more than just spectators. Grounds teams, volunteers, maintenance vehicles, players, officials and emergency access all need to be considered.

The two double leaf vehicle gates provide wider access points where equipment or vehicles may need to enter the pitchside area, while the pedestrian gates allow controlled foot access without leaving gaps in the spectator barrier line.

Each gate was fitted with a padlockable slide latch, giving the club a simple and reliable way to secure access points.
