Rebound Fencing at Richard Roper Playing Field

The Richard Roper Playing Field in Gawcott includes a synthetic 5-a-side pitch, sports pavilion and children’s play area. Managed by the parish council it’s a very popular area for local residents and a number of clubs who hire out the various facilities during evenings and weekends.

Secure-a-Field were approached to supply and install a new mesh fencing system around the 5-a-side pitch as the original timber rebound fencing was in poor condition. The parish council were looking for a system that offered rebound qualities whilst being difficult to climb. It also needed to stand the test of time whilst being maintenance free.

After discussions with the council we suggested a hybrid mesh fencing system that featured our Defender 8T rebound for the lower 2000mm of the fence with the addition of 1000mm panel of our Defender 358 mesh fencing to give an overall fence height of 3000mm. This ensures rebound qualities whilst making it very difficult to climb. In addition we recommended a steel gravel board around the lower section of the fence to help keep the surfacing intact.

Design and manufacturing of the bespoke system took a lot of planning and attention to detail which paid off when it came to install – the Secure-a-Field installers completed the take down of old and installation of new fencing within the 2 week window that the council had provided.

The finished fence looks great and has been enthusiastically approved of by the parish council and facility users alike!
