Fencing Upgrade at Cozens Street Play Area, Wellesbourne

Customer: Wellesbourne Parish Council
Location: Cozens Street Play Area, Wellesbourne, CV35 9SU
Sector: Local Authority / Public Open Space

Project Overview

Secure-a-Field was appointed by Wellesbourne Parish Council to replace a worn section of fencing at the Cozens Street Play Area, a popular public space serving families and children in the community. The existing timber close board fencing had become deteriorated over time and was no longer providing adequate safety or visual appeal.

Scope of Works

The project involved the safe removal and disposal of 125 metres of old timber fencing, followed by the installation of a new 1800mm high timber featheredge fence designed to provide long-term durability and an improved aesthetic.

Installation Details:

  • sawn timber posts installed at 2400 mm centres

  • sawn timber rails per bay, face-fixed for structural integrity

  • timber gravel boards, installed with packers for level alignment

  • featheredge boards installed at 100 mm centres for privacy and security

The new fence not only strengthens the site's perimeter but also enhances the visual appeal of the play area, maintaining a natural timber look that suits the residential setting.

  • Site clearance: All old materials were disposed of responsibly, ensuring a clean and safe environment throughout the project.

Outcome

The completed fence provides a secure, durable, and visually consistent boundary for the Cozens Street Play Area. The Parish Council and local residents now benefit from improved safety, a refreshed appearance, and peace of mind—knowing the play area is well protected for years to come.

Secure-a-Field continues to support schools, local councils and public-sector clients with high-quality fencing solutions that balance security, safety, and visual appeal.
