South Charnwood High School

South Charnwood High School is a mixed secondary school located between the villages of Markfield and Thornton in the Hinckley and Bosworth district of Leicestershire, England.

South Charnwood High School is a mixed secondary school based in the Hinckley & Bosworth district of Leicestershire and is located on a large site of approx 20 acres with extensive playing fields and a FA approved 3G football pitch.

With large areas of the site being unfenced and with a public footpath running across the playing fields, maintaining security at the site had become a challenge.

Secure-a-Field were approached and, working with the school's architect, put forward a scheme to fence the site boundary using our Defender 8T heavy-duty mesh fencing system. Featuring twin wire 868 panels and a full-length steel clamp bar, this system provides a robust security barrier whilst offering good through visibility.

With a majority of the 1300m of fencing being installed adjacent to existing hedges, the mesh will become barely visible in the future as it blends into the landscape.

Matching vehicle gates were installed along with access controlled pedestrian gates linking back to the school Paxton access control system. These self-closing pedestrian gates featured both intercom units and card readers to allow the school to control the entry & exit of staff and visitors alike.

Adjacent to the perimeter, Berkswell kissing gates were installed to provide suitable controlled access to the public footpath.
