Safety-First Fencing Upgrade with ROSPA Bow Top Railings

Secure-a-Field was recently commissioned to upgrade an ageing timber fencing system as part of a safety improvement initiative. The existing timber picket fencing — totalling 47 metres in length — along with two gates, had deteriorated over time and no longer met current safety or durability standards.

To ensure a long-lasting, safe, and low-maintenance solution, the old fencing and gates were carefully removed and replaced with 47 metres of 1.5m high ROSPA-approved bow top railings. This type of fencing is specifically designed with safety in mind, featuring smooth, rounded top sections that reduce the risk of injury — making it ideal for areas used by children or the general public.

As part of the installation, we also fitted two 1.53m single leaf gates that seamlessly match the bow top railings. These gates provide secure, controlled access while maintaining visual continuity and a welcoming appearance.

The result is a robust and visually appealing perimeter that not only enhances site safety but also requires minimal ongoing maintenance — a key consideration for clients managing public spaces or school grounds.
